So…

You’ve been coming to Columbus KTC for a while.  You attend one or more of the Sunday practice sessions or classes regularly.  You’ve started to develop a home meditation practice.  And now you’ve begun to wonder, “What’s next?”

One possible answer to that question is the Mentorship Program at KTC.

What is the Mentorship Program?

The Mentorship Program is a series of four individualized, one-on-one classes with a trained Mentor who will help you advance in your dharma study and practice.

The goal of the Mentorship Program is to help connect you to your meditation practice, answer questions and help resolve problems that arise in meditation and dharma study.  Ideally, participating in Mentorship will give you confidence about your practice and personalized guidance about how to proceed in your study of the dharma.

There are two kinds of Mentorship: Mentorship in Meditation and Mentorship in Sadhana Practice.  The Meditation mentorship program helps students learn about Shinay (also called Shamta) – quiet sitting meditation.  The Sadhana Mentorship Program provides individual instruction in five sadhanas (chant meditations) we do at Columbus KTC: Amitabha, Chenrezig, Green Tara, White Tara and medicine Buddha.

Who Are the Mentors?

The Mentors are experienced Meditation Instructors who have been specially selected and trained for Mentorship by our Resident Teacher, Lama Kathy Wesley.

When and Where Do Mentorship Classes Take Place?

Your classes will be scheduled individually, and will meet your personal time frame.  Mentorship sessions typically will last for one hour, and will take place at the KTC during its open hours, or at a coffee shop or library.

Am I Limited to Only Four Classes?

Your Mentorship Program may be extended by agreement between you, your Mentor and Lama Kathy.

What Does a Mentorship Program Cost?

A donation of $20 for a series of four classes ($5 a class) is requested; all fees will be used to support the programs of Columbus KTC.  However, no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.

To arrange a Mentorship, please contact us at info@columbusktc.org or speak with one of the meditation instructors – or anyone wearing a badge at the center.
